I was privilege to attend the World Film and Television and nextMedia Conference that is held in Banff, Alberta Canada. Banff is an art meca surrounded by the Canadian Rockies. Every year, some of the biggest decision makers in Canadian Film and TV along with world-wide players in the industry converge on the town. Now, the conference has been combined with nextMedia which brings new media into the mix!
Talks ranged from William Shatner, who recieved a lifetime achievement award, and Ricky Gervais to Matt Mason, the author of the “Pirates Dilemna”. Panels were held on Community Management, Transmedia Storytelling, Mobile TV, and Webisodes. Along with more traditional panels on finding an agent and master classes on writing scripts.
I was able to have some great discussions surrounding Social Media and Digital Content. All in all a exciting four days!
